endline

Settlement

The final price is the median of 7 major exchanges, averaged over the 30 minutes before the end, and can be challenged before it's final.

The final price

Each exchange's 1-minute closing prices are averaged over the 30 minutes before the end. The final price is the median of those averages.

ExchangesQuoted in
Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, BitfinexUSD
Binance, OKX, BybitUSDT, converted at a 30-minute USDT/USD average from Coinbase and Kraken
  • An exchange counts only with at least 25 of its 30 one-minute prices, and at least 3 exchanges must count, so one bad exchange can't move the median.
  • If the two USDT/USD rates are missing, more than 0.2% (20 bps) apart, or outside 0.97 to 1.03, the USDT exchanges drop out.
  • On 08:00 UTC markets, no price is set if Deribit's delivery price is more than 0.5% (50 bps) from the median, or if Deribit doesn't answer (we retry every 10 minutes). Deribit alone never sets the price. On 23 Oct 2026 the BTC median was 0.1 bp from it.
  • Selling back and new options stop 30 minutes before the end, when the averaging window opens.

Exact rules: Oracle WASM.

Timeline

StepWhen
Market endsOnce a day, shown in your time zone (08:00 UTC)
Selling back closes30 min before the end
Price requestedFrom 5 min after the end, by our settler every 10 min until a price is in. Anyone can request it too
Manual price allowedFrom 6 h after the end
Dispute window1 h
Auto-collect sent1 to 2 min after final

The app shows "Waiting for the final price, usually about 1 h", then the proposed price and when it becomes final.

Who computes it

OutLayer runs the oracle WASM pinned in the contract by sha256, inside a TEE (Intel TDX), and the contract stores the price from OutLayer's callback. You also trust OutLayer's operator: the TEE is checked off-chain, not by the contract.

Before mainnet launch, a proposer run by the team runs the same pinned WASM and proposes its result.

Dispute window

A proposed price becomes final when its dispute window ends. Until then our monitor checks it against Deribit every minute and alerts if it's more than 0.2% off or missing, and the owner can override it. The owner can't move the end of the window or change its length, but it can stop a price from being proposed at all (Safety and risks).

If something goes wrong

ProblemWhat happens
Fewer than 3 exchanges, median and Deribit 0.5% apart, or no Deribit price on an 08:00 marketNo automatic price. The oracle account proposes one by hand once the manual window opens
OutLayer down or timing outOur settler retries every 10 min, and anyone can. If none succeeds within 6 h, manual proposal
Wrong price proposedThe owner overrides it inside the dispute window

Until a price is final, the market is pending and nothing pays out. There is no fallback payout formula.
